MACEOS Background

The Only Trade Association Representing Business Events Industry in Malaysia

.

Founded in 1990, the Malaysian Association of Convention and Exhibition Organisers and Suppliers (MACEOS) was established to enhance and uphold the standards of Malaysia’s Business Events (BE) industry.

Representing a diverse membership—including professional congress and exhibition organisers, venue operators, event management companies, and affiliated sectors such as logistics, audio-visual, airlines, and travel—MACEOS plays a pivotal role in driving industry growth.

Malaysia’s BE industry has made significant strides, contributing RM3.9 billion in direct expenditure and RM9.2 billion to the economy in 2019. Beyond its economic impact, the industry fosters innovation, knowledge exchange, networking, and product development, reinforcing its integral role in the nation’s progress.

Guided by the Innovation, Development, Education, and Advocacy (I.D.E.A.) framework, the MACEOS Strategic Roadmap 2022-2030 outlines key strategies and performance indicators to propel the industry forward. Serving as a blueprint for recovery, resilience, and sustainable growth, it empowers industry players to seize opportunities, overcome challenges, and expand into new markets.

With a shared vision and collective effort, MACEOS continues to strengthen Malaysia’s position as a dynamic and thriving hub for business events.
