For over 35 years, MACEOS has been a driving force in Malaysia’s Business Events industry. From pioneering training programs to launching industry awards and strategic roadmaps, it continues to shape innovation and growth nationwide.

Journey Through Time

1990

Established on 17 December 1990, MACEOS is the pioneering force behind Malaysia’s Business Events (known as MICE) industry. As the national trade association, we remain at the forefront of innovation and growth.

1992

The 1st MACEOS AGM revealed the ambitious committee members who are determined to impact the BE industry positively.

2013

The 1st rAWr Awards was initiated to celebrate the excellence of Malaysia’s Business Events industry.

2014

Launch of the inaugural issue of the Business Events Malaysia Magazine (BE) Magazine on 12 November 2014 at Tujo Restaurant, Kuala Lumpur.

2015

MACEOS kicked off the inaugural AEC+ Expo under the Asian Federation of Exhibition and Convention Associations (AFECA) to promote BE industry in Asia.

To strengthen Malaysia’s BE industry, MACEOS launched a series of Professional Training Programme with the primary goals of developing supply chain capacity and raising professional standards.

2016

MACEOS conceptualised the inaugural Business Event Forum (BEF), inspiring new strategies and ideas to propel industry growth.

The East Malaysia Chapter of MACEOS was formed to encourage active participation from the Sabah and Sarawak industry players.

2018

MACEOS formed dynamic Northern and Southern Chapters to enhance collaboration between local BE businesses.

2019

MACEOS organised the 1st Malaysia Business Events Awards (MBEA) to honour the efforts of industry players in fostering business events throughout Malaysia.

2020

MACEOS revolutionised the foundations of industry success with a bold approach to Innovation, Development, Education and Advocacy (IDEA).

2021

MACEOS developed a comprehensive Strategic Roadmap 2022-2030 to capitalise on potential opportunities and ensure success for all involved.

2022

MACEOS celebrated its 32nd Anniversary in style, honouring members and patrons who have gone above and beyond during the challenging times with industry recognition awards.
